100% Recyclable Pods

Every Java House Peel & Pour Pod is made from #1 PET plastic, a material widely accepted in curbside recycling programs. 

Reduced Energy Use

Traditional hot brewing requires heated water, which uses a significant amount of energy. Cold brewed coffee removes that step entirely. An average hot brewer uses 21.7 watts per serving, while Java House Peel & Pour Pods use 1.97 watts per serving. By brewing cold, Java House reduces energy use and avoids Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions by not heating water.

Repurposed Coffee Grounds

The used coffee grounds are not thrown away. Instead, Java House repurposes over 5+ million pounds of grounds into animal bedding. This supports our agricultural partners and reduces landfill waste.

Smarter Packaging and Supply Chain Choices

Sustainability continues at Java House b focusing on reducing materials and emissions across the entire supply chain. 57% of our packaging is recyclable today, with ongoing efforts to increase that number. We also reuse CHEP pallet which prevents 183,000 board feet of wood waste and cuts 2,510 metric tons of CO₂e. Additionally, Splenda Stevia is locally sourced, which avoids imports and saves another 19 metric tons of CO₂.
